If an error occurs while restoring a backup, the data folder may be lost and must be restored manually. The 'backup' folder contains the most recent backups; copy the contents of the backup folder you want to restore to the root of the study folder.
If you make changes to data files outside Kvalikirstu while the data is open in Kvalikirstu, the index may not be generated correctly. You can resolve this by deleting temporary files and then selecting the study again in Kvalikirstu.
Temporary files are generated along with generating the index. If an error occurs during this process, a following error message will be displayed:
To correct this error, press the "Edit file..." button and edit the temporary file in the following way.
The temporary file that caused the error will open in an editing window. The program marks the lines with errors with red triangles (note that the error may have occured outside of these markings, see Case 2 below).
Common causes for errors:
Make sure, that the tags **BEGINDATA** and **ENDDATA** are correctly placed.
These tags indicate the beginning and end of the data associated with a subject: **BEGINDATA** should be on the first line after the last header line of the subject and **ENDDATA** on the line before the first header of the next subject (or the last line of the file). You can see that data text is between the beginning and end tags and headers outside of the tags.
Make sure that there's an empty line between the citation requirement text and the first header.
Case 1: An empty line missing between the citation requirement and the first header line. Add an extra line break.
Case 2: An empty line missing between the data of a subject and the first header of the subsequent subject. Move the tag **ENDDATA** from the line after the last red mark to a new line just before 'Sukupuoli: mies'.
